Plaça de les Drassanes

Plaça de les Drassanes, Barcelona. Leica M7 with Zeiss 2/35.

The wonderful metal hoops at Plaça de les Drassanes, as seen from the jetty alongside the tourist boats at Port Vell. Hard to believe that immediately behind me when this was taken was a mass of people taking selfies of themselves with the boats and Columbus statue behind…

Leica M7 with Zeiss 2/35 and Ilford HP5+. I really like the way that the grain works with these empty-city shots to give a sense of timeless emptiness that is very much not the state of the city today. Even without photoshop and using film this photograph is a lie.

  1. I have not commented here for quite some time…but I want you to know that I appreciate what you do. Your work is fine and unadulterated in a time when this is very rare. I love this shot which you embrace despite the hordes behind you. Reflect what is in you and you can’t go wrong.
