Besòs

Graffiti.

A short set of images taken on a walk around the mouth of the River Besòs. This ought to be premium beach front in Barcelona, but a long history of industrial use means that much of it is a dramatic change from the pristine tourist beaches in Barceloneta and around Port Vell. The environment has improved since the removal of the old sea jetties, but there is still clear evidence of heavy drug use and the only “clean” spaces are where the sea itself washes away the human detritus.

Paths are mainly used by runners and cyclists during the day.

Sea front with power station.

Graffiti.

Beaches are cleaner towards Badalona, but very little used at this time of year.

Torn down security fence.

The beach at Sant Adria.

Remnants of nocturnal activities.

The purifying sea.

  1. Wow…a bit of a good clean-up..but leave the street -Art…and it would be a great place to get away from it all.
