El Llobregat

A selection of images from the Llobregat river, in the area between El Prat and Sant Vicenç dels Horts, near Barcelona. These were shot on two visits to the river area, with the aim of exploring how to document an area such as this, where the river area is nominally described as a natural space and is surrounded by a mix of quasi-industrial agriculture and city infrastructure. Hangang

A short set of images taken walking along the banks of the Hangang river in Seoul. This was a particularly rainy and wet time and there were few people around, often giving the illusion of an abandoned city – an illusion that is easily broken if you are just a little higher and can see all the traffic! Kranhäuser

Some images of the crane-buildings, constructed along the bank of the Rhine in Köln. The huge 17 story buildings are intended to recall the designs of the old harbour cranes that were here before the port area was redeveloped. The buildings are a mix of offices and residential space which, along with the gorgeous river settings, helps ensure that the area is always lively and interesting to explore.

London River Walk

A short set of images taken along the River Thames, mainly following the Thames Path. These were taken to test out a newly acquired 90mm Elmarit-M lens, which despite being more than 20 years old seems to be working amazingly well. The lens is extremely sharp, but lower-contrast than most modern lenses – although this is easily corrected when processing the images.
