Another couple of days off from work and a chance to revisit the Cataratas del Iguazú. These amazing waterfalls lie along the border between Brazil and Argentina and are surrounded by a beautiful tropical forest, which in the 19th century once covered almost the entirety of this region. The falls can be visited from both Argentina and Brazil – and both sides are just awesome. All images were shot with an Olympus E-M10II and 12-50mm kit zoom.

Phase One has just announced the latest update to their flagship RAW processing software, Capture One 10, with a raft of new features and improvements – and a €99 price tag for the update. Is it worth upgrading? Fast food kiosk, Moll d’ Espanya, Barcelona.
More yachts and illegal street traders. Moll d’ Espanya, Barcelona. All three images this week were shot late at night on HP5+ rated at ISO 3200. It is very difficult to get clean images, as the film has little exposure latitude when pushed this far and these night scenes contain a lot of contrast.
Some snapshots taken on a half-day break while again in Kyoto for work – a good opportunity to get back to some favourite spots and a nice change from Barcelona.
More HP5+ shot at ISO 3200 on Las Ramblas, Barcelona.
Carrer dels Comtes, Barcelona.
Carrer de la Pietat, Barcelona.
Four random colour scenes of everyday life in Barcelona. Colour shots taken in the market are really painful to edit, as the extremely mixed lighting makes getting anything vaguely approaching acceptable colour painful. I would love to find a practical, efficient strategy to adjust colour for indoor “street” shots that is more effective than the Monte-Carlo method that I currently use…
Universidad de Barcelona, Carrer del Montalegre. Kodak Portra 400 processed in a Tetenal kit and converted to black and white.
Carrer dels Angels, Barcelona – this doorway was one of the subjects used in the very different “bubbles” images.
The first of a series of film based street photographs, shot in Barcelona.
Winter is coming, in every sense, and Barcelona feels like a different city. Back to some street photography on Monday…
