Police car, tourists and illegal street trading, Moll de Bosch i Alsina, Barcelona.
Police car, tourists and illegal street trading, Moll de Bosch i Alsina, Barcelona.
Fast food kiosk, Moll d’ Espanya, Barcelona.
More yachts and illegal street traders. Moll d’ Espanya, Barcelona. All three images this week were shot late at night on HP5+ rated at ISO 3200. It is very difficult to get clean images, as the film has little exposure latitude when pushed this far and these night scenes contain a lot of contrast.
More HP5+ shot at ISO 3200 on Las Ramblas, Barcelona.
Carrer dels Comtes, Barcelona.
Carrer de la Pietat, Barcelona.
Universidad de Barcelona, Carrer del Montalegre. Kodak Portra 400 processed in a Tetenal kit and converted to black and white.
Carrer dels Angels, Barcelona – this doorway was one of the subjects used in the very different “bubbles” images.
The first of a series of film based street photographs, shot in Barcelona.
Mural on the side of College of Architects, Barcelona. Minolta X300 with 35-70mm and Ilford HP5+ rated at ISO 3200 and processed in DD-X. This was one of a series of films that were shot to try push-processing HP5 three stops, which gives an interesting effect with grain and contrast.
Tree branches, Barcelona. Leica M7 with ZM 1,4/35 and Ilford Delta 100 in DD-X 1+4.
Three distant hikers on Il Giumello, Italy. Leica M7 with ZM 1,4/35 and yellow filter on Ilford Delta 100 with DD-X 1+4 for 9:00 at 24c.
Mountain village and landscape. This was exposed for the shadows, and the more limited dynamic range of Delta film (compared to HP5+ or colour negatives) leads to this wonderful fade to white from the highlight roll-off, which is helped nicely by the beautifully subtle rendering of the distagon lens. Leica M7 with ZM 1,4/35 distagon and yellow filter on Ilford Delta 100 processed in DD-X 1+4 for 9 minutes at 24c.
Mountain scene in Northern Italy. Leica M7 with Zeiss ZM 2/35 and a dark red filter on Ilford Delta 100.
Mountain view with larch trees. Leica M7 with ZM 2/35 using a red filter and Ilford Delta 100.
Arriving at the Rifugio Arnaldo Bogani, where hot coffee (and food) awaits. Leica M7 with ZM 2/35 on Ilford Delta 100. Taken using a dark red filter.
