A selection of images of Catholic Shrines in the northern alpine region of Italy, around Lago di Como. These are found on mountain paths and trails and in many cases are still actively maintained through a mixture of tradition, conservation, and ongoing superstition.

[Edit] As an aside, I have a equivalent image of this scene taken with the Olympus E-M5 and Panasonic 25mm f1.4 (a lens which has some connection with Leica, but which is nonetheless made by a company better known for its vacuum cleaners…).
