This year’s presepe in Plaça de Sant Jaume is a modern work of art that is difficult to capture on film, comprising a fantastic array of kinetic artworks housed in giant inflated snow-globes. A nicely post-modern and largely secular interpretation of a traditional Christmas event. Leica M7 with 50mm and Ilford Delta 100 processed in DD-X.

And so ends 2016, one of the worst years we have ever witnessed. Ok, so the photograph does not have so much as a dove, but a pigeon. But the reference(s) seemed apt nonetheless. A short set of images taken at the Jardí Botànic Històric on the Monjuïc, Barcelona. This particular garden was originally established in the 1930’s by recycling constructions from the 1929 World Fair, before the what is later creation of what is now the main botanic garden in 1999. The garden is quite small and shady (never a bad thing given the summer environment here), and is notable for its collection of medicinal plants.

The first of three images where people realised they were being shot (photographically). The M7 is a good street camera, but dressing up in a day-glow yellow t-shirt probably undoes any subtlety that the camera has.
Four very loosely connected images on the theme of light and shadow in Barcelona. This is one of the best times of the year for early morning light, as you can catch the streets before the tourists escape from their hotels.
