Vilanova to Sitges

Vianova to Sitges

A set of images on a walk from Vilanova y Geltrú to Sitges in Catalunya. It is an interesting route because you are sandwiched between the coastal railway lines and the sea, and there are no barriers between either of these and you. It is unusual in this hyper-sanitised 21st century to discover that there is nothing to prevent you being run over by a high-speed train or to stop you falling off a cliff: this is not a path for those without common sense.

The walk is physically undemanding and has superb views over the sea and countryside. And there is the added bonus of a an excellent – if expensive – array of restaurants to serve lunch once you arrive in Sitges.

All images shot with the M10 and 50mm Summilux, with a polarising filter fitted to darken the skies and water. The polariser also helps cut through the haze that builds up during the day as the Mediterranean is vaporised by the unusually hot March sun. As always, the chance for the best images is early in the morning.

And, jumping topics, a reminder that Brexit sucks. Everyone in the UK will shortly loose their right to come and live and work in a place like this. If you care, make sure to register your protest with your MP and help stop Brexit – the greatest removal of freedoms that I have seen in my lifetime.
